How To: Install Atomic Assessments In Brightspace

The installation of Atomic Assessments into Brightspace requires a Super Administrator to complete. Once the tool is enabled in one course and confirmed to work, Teachers can follow steps 4 and 5 to use it in their courses.

  1. Register the tool

    1. In the upper right-hand corner of Brightspace, click on the Admin Tools gear > Manage Extensibility.
    2. Click on the LTI Advantage tab
    3. Choose Register Tool > Dynamic Registration
      1. Paste the appropriate link for the install region in the Tool initiation registration endpoint:
        US- https://assessments.atomicjoltapps.com/lti_dynamic_registrations
        EU- https://assessments.atomicjoltappsie.com/lti_dynamic_registrationsAU- https://assessments.atomicjoltappsau.com/lti_dynamic_registrations
        Beta - https://assessments.atomicjoltbetaapps.com/lti_dynamic_registrations

Check the Configure Deployment box

  1. Atomic Jolt to configure the new application

    1. In the Atomic Jolt admin panel, Click on Atomic Assessments, search for the customer's institution name to find their application instance
      1. Add the name of the institution in the domain box
      2. Configure with the Learnosity Item Bank key and secret.  (MULT-TENANT US for Production, DEMO FOR DEMO)
      3. Mark the account as paid
      4. Save

  2. Add the tool as an External Learning Tool at the Org level

    1. Go to the Settings gear > External Learning Tools (Or continue through the deployment to get to the same place)
    2. Click on the LTI Advantage tab
    3. Select New Deployment
      1. In the Tool Dropdown, select Atomic Assessments
      2. Name: Atomic Assessments
      3. Extensions
        1. Assignment and Grade Services - Enable
        2. Deep Linking - Enable
        3. Names and Role Provisioning Services - Enable
      4. Security Settings:
        1. Org Unit Information - Enable
        2. User Information - Enable
        3. Link Information - Enable
        4. Classlist including users not known to this deployment - Enable
      5. Configuration Settings
        1. Grades created by LTI will be included in Final Grade - Enable
      6. Make Tool available to
        1. This is where you add the Org Units to access the tool. Select each org unit where you want the tool to be installed. 
        2. If you want to install it everywhere, go to the Choose Org Unit type dropdown and select “Organization.” Select the checkbox for the organization and choose “This org unit and all descendants” under the options column. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE CHECKBOX to the left of the organization Scroll down and click on the View Links link (this will open in a new tab)
        3. Add a New Link
        4. Name: Atomic Assessments
        5. URL: https://assessments.atomicjoltapps.com/lti_launches
        6. Type: Deep Linking QuickLink
        7. Save and Close

          1. For Insert Stuff (RCE): Add a New Link
          2. Name: Atomic Assessments 
      7. URL: https://assessments.atomicjoltapps.com/lti_launches
      8. Type: Deep Linking Insert Stuff
        1. Name: Atomic Assessments
        2. URL: `
        3. Type: Basic (This creates the assignment/activity manager)
        4. Save and Close

  1. Go back to the previous tab Save and Close

MAKE SURE THE LTI LINK IS ENABLED.

  1. Adding the Atomic Assessments Activity Manager

    1. In the course toolbar, go to the Content tab. 
    2. Choose the module you want to add the Atomic Assessments Activity Manager to.
    3. Under Existing Activities, choose External Learning Tools
    4. In the LTI Link box, select Atomic Assessments Activity Manager
