đź”’ How to Prevent Students from Navigating Back in an Atomic Assessment

Some instructors may wish to restrict students from returning to previously viewed questions during an assessment. This can help reduce the risk of answer sharing and encourage students to stay focused on one question at a time.

🎯 Objective:

Disable the ability for students to:

•Navigate backward through questions

•Use a vertical table of contents for navigation

 

🛠️ Steps to Disable Backward Navigation:

1.Go to the Assessment in Atomic Assessments.

2.Click Edit Question List.

3.Select the three-dot menu (â‹®) in the upper right corner.

4.Click Player > Show Options.

5.In the player configuration panel, uncheck the following:

•✅ Vertical Table of Contents

•✅ Previous

6.Click Save to apply your settings.

With these two options disabled:

•Students will only be able to move forward using the “Next” button.

•The assessment will appear linear, without a visible outline of all questions.

This setup is ideal for formative or summative exams where maintaining focus and test integrity is essential.
