The Summary Report in Atomic Assessments provides instructors with a high-level overview of student performance on an assignment. This report includes detailed metrics on time spent, score submissions, and overall assignment statistics.
🔍 What You’ll Find in the Summary Report
Top Table: Student Submission Overview
For each student, you can view:
•Time Spent on the assignment
•Submission Status (e.g., Started, Completed)
•Whether the score was Sent to the Gradebook
•Number of Attempts
•Score/Points Earned
You can also:
•Click on a student’s name to open their submission in SpeedGrader
•Sort columns by clicking the arrows next to each column header
•Search for a student by clicking the magnifying glass in the Student column
👁️ View a Student Attempt
1.Navigate to the assignment.
2. Go to the Reports button
2.Click the student’s name to open the submission in Canvas SpeedGrader.
3.From SpeedGrader, you can:
•Override scores
•Leave per-question feedback

📈 Assignment Statistics
The bottom section of the report shows a histogram of student scores and key statistics:
•Median Score
•Average Score
•Standard Deviation
•Highest & Lowest Scores
•Average Completion Time
🧠 Note: The histogram displays the number of students in each score range. In the example screenshot above, both students scored 52%, resulting in a single visible bar
You can also click on a student’s name to view their submissions inside Speedgrader.
Search for a student
- Navigate to an assignment within Atomic Assessments.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon in the Summary report’s Student header column.
- Start typing in the name of the student to filter the student list.
- You can search by first or last name.
Sort columns
Sort by clicking on the arrows to the right of each report column header.
Filter by section
At the top right of the report, select the section to filter attempts:

You can download the summary data as a CSV file:
1.In the upper-right corner of the Summary report, click the Download Arrow.
2.To download:
•All student data: Select “All Sections”
•Filtered data: Choose a specific section first
