Added account and course level setting for specifying what to do when a course is copied - Previously, when you copied a course:
The assignments in the new course referenced the Learnosity activities and items in the course it was copied from;
The content was not copied in the Learnosity item bank.
In addition, you were not able to edit the activities and items in the new course.
This release adds the ability to choose to copy Learnosity content when you copy a course:
The activities and items are duplicated in the Learnosity item bank and
The assignments in the new course point at the new copies of the content.
You can edit the activities and items in the new course. Editing them does not modify the content since it is editing a copy.
- You can choose what happens when a course is copied by accessing the course settings page from the gear at the top right of the connector. The setting is named: When this course is copied, assignments in the new course should reference:
Copies of the activities and items in this course. (this is the default)
The original activities and items in this course.
There is currently an additional option to choose whether or not activities and items can be edited in the new course. Note that in our next release, we will be removing the option to make content be editable in the copied course.
- The default setting for courses can be specified in Atomic Jolt’s backend. If you want a different default than “When this course is copied, assignments in the new course should reference: Copies of the activities and items in this course”, send an email to email@example.com or create a ticket in freshdesk.
Publisher tags can be specified to make items available but not editable in all courses - In the Atomic Jolt backend, a list of publisher tags can be specified for a Canvas instance. If publisher tags are specified, activities tagged with any of the publisher tags will be displayed when choosing to create a new assignment by selecting from existing activities. When users edit an assignment based on a Learnosity activity with a publisher tag applied to it, the items tab is hidden. In addition, activities and items tagged with any of the publisher tags are not displayed in the Atomic Learnosity Connector Authoring tab. This functionality is intended to be used by publishers to make content available to schools while preventing the schools from editing it. In the future, we will be adding the ability for publishers to allow their activities to be copied for editing by schools. If you want to specify publisher tags for your account, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or create a ticket in freshdesk.
Added Assignment option: Show teacher feedback to student - Use this option to specify whether or not to show teacher feedback to students. If this option is enabled, question specific scores and teacher feedback messages are displayed when students review their submission. Currently, when you create a new assignment, this option defaults to enabled; in the next release, the option will default to disabled when creating a new assignment. This option was set to disabled for all assignments created before this release. Currently, there is a bug that we are working to fix that causes a Feedback label and empty space to be displayed even when no teacher feedback has been displayed if this option is enabled for an assignment.
Modified styles of assignment settings - A settings note now shows up when a user mouses over the icon next to a settings title.
Correct feedback message was displayed when a question was only partially correct - For questions that support partial credit, Correct Feedback was displayed when a partially correct response was submitted in addition to when a completely correct response was submitted. This release changes the behavior so that Correct Feedback is only displayed if the response is completely correct. Incorrect Feedback is only displayed if the response is completely incorrect. No feedback message is displayed if the response is partially correct.
Check answer attempts error - When you specified a value for a question’s Check answer attempts and enabled the Show remaining attempts for questions option for an assignment, an error would occur when completing the assignment.
Check answer activity settings did not override item specific settings - Show check answer option on the activity level did not override the show check answer option for each item.
Completed column counted multiple attempts from the same student - The value of the Completed column would increase when a student submitted an assignment even when it wasn’t the student’s first submission.
Pie chart on the Summary screen did not match the Score to be submitted - On the assignment summary view, the pie chart displayed a different value than the score to be submitted.
- Error occured when going to the Authoring page in a course that didn’t have any activities in it - When you selected the Authoring menu in a course that didn’t have any activities in it, an error would occur.
