Review how Atomic Search treats dead content, or content that is not linked anywhere in the course.
Can students search content that a teacher has not linked to (dead content)?
No. If the content is not linked to through a menu or page, students cannot search it.
For example, if a teacher had uploaded a PDF article to the course, but they no longer use it or link to it, and they have adjusted settings so that students can’t see all of the files that are in the course, students would not find the PDF article in search results.
We refer to content that is not linked to as “dead content.” Even though students can technically access dead content if they know the URL, we don’t show the content in search results.
